HOUSE OF ENGLAND An International Cottage

The HOUSE OF ENGLAND is a gathering place for English expats but welcomes everyone regardless of heritage. House of England promotes goodwill and cultural understanding among all people, fosters social activities and appreciation of English heritage, presents the history, arts and notable persons of England to the public, supports educational initiatives, and extends friendship to all, members and guests alike.

But mostly we like hanging out together and also hosting the cottage.

We host our Balboa Park cottage every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4pm. Come by for a ‘cuppa’! Do you like the upbeat vibe of Balboa Park. Become a House of England host! It’s easy; just click contact us and drop your info.

The House of England is one of the International Cottages of Balboa Park, also known as the Houses of Pacific Relations (HPR). HPR is a collection of small ‘houses’ representing 31 cultures (see map). It’s a truly international community!

Most of the cottages are historic, built for the 1935 Exposition. The nine newer ones opened in 2022. Both new and historic cottages offer visitors a window to their culture, history and traditions.

House Hours: The House of England is open between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, closed some holidays. Pop in for a cuppa!
